Revitalize Your Lawn with Our Expert Lawn Aeration Service

Why Aerate and Overseed?

Lawn aeration is the process of creating small holes in the soil to improve air circulation, water absorption, and nutrient uptake. We offer mechanical aerification that pulls small plugs from the turf and lets them on the surface temporarily until they dissolve back into the soil.  Clay soils can become very tight and compacted.  Aerification can allow a pathway to increase air flow, water, and nutrient cycling.  Aerification is also effective in helping relieve soil compaction & helping to accelerate the decomposition of excess thatch. When seed is requested, we pride ourselves on using a “Blue Tag Certified” turf type tall fescue grass seed.  This type of seed has proven to be eye pleasing and holds up best to the extreme variations in our temperatures.  We also offer several soil amendment possibilities that can be applied with this service to help increase the health and vigor of the soil and turf.

In addition to our lawn aeration service, we provide a variety of other options to help maintain and beautify your lawn, such as professional lawn treatments, weed management and flea and tick applications.

How Often Should You Do Lawn Aeration?

Generally, lawn aeration should be done at least once a year, preferably in the spring or fall when grass is actively growing.

Best Time for Lawn Aeration And Overseeding

The best time for aerification and overseeding the lawn is in the fall, which is usually the time when grass is in its active growth phase and temperatures are cooler. This allows the grass to establish strong roots before the onset of winter.

Lawn Aeration And Overseeding In Spring

Lawn aeration in the spring can be beneficial for cool-season grasses, such as Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and ryegrass, as it can help to improve soil quality and promote overseeding. If you plan overseeding in the spring, it's important to choose the right grass seed variety for your region and soil type, and to prepare the soil properly by removing debris and dead grass and providing adequate soil moisture.
